Share Opportunities
JOIN the International Community that wants to save this Pub and become a part owner through share opportunities
Individuals and organisations can each buy up to £20,000 of shares. The minimum investment is £20, which will buy one share. Every investor has to become a member of the new managing organisation (there are few restrictions on who can join) and the organisation will be run on a one-member, one-vote basis.
*There is no guarantee that we will win the Big Lottery pitch, so the project is still reliant on donations and support to ensure the project can still go ahead.
If the pitch is won, the extra funding will go towards further expansion plans for the social enterprise.

Why we need your support
We need to raise in excess of £190,000 . The building will be acquired and refurbished and we will submit some capital bids to potential funders as well as appeal for further share purchases and loans. We are aiming to raise as much as possible from individuals, organisations and businesses so that it is very much a community pub!

Can I get my money back?
You are making a prepayment for shares that will be offered in The Barge Inn Community Project . You will be able to apply to withdraw your investment subject to the rules of the project, but you are not allowed to sell your shares to anyone else. At this stage it is thought unlikely that withdrawals will be allowed for at least three years from the acquisition ot the Pub. The Project will have the right to suspend the withdrawal of shares indefinitely.
If however you just wish to donate a sum to the project please indicate this and we will set up a new account to hold these funds to help with the development costs.
